Last bottle. Not showing the concentration it has in the past makes me think this is on the downslope. Still very good though -- black cherry prominent, maybe some black pepper and clove. Improved and settled in with air. I say drink up...

The flavors in this were so many things--intense and primary with ripe blackberries and juicy blueberries, and developed and tertiary with precise and transparent roasted coffee and integrated cocoa. And just smelling it--so aromatic!--will tell you all this. Definitely in the ripe bordeaux-style of things--or even ripe Napa cab mode--this had plenty of earthy character, even if the alcoholic heat was a bit out of balance, and I think it would develop interestingly for another 10 years at least. We had it with spiced butter pasta, so the the alcohol + chili heat combo was fun.
