Soft lime and confit lemon, fresh bright white flowers on the nose. Lovely mouthfeel and texture, with some secondary notes coming through and everything in great balance. An appley sweetness to this with beautiful acidity.

A simply magical 2008 Champagne, the 2008 ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ Champagne is a revelation from this dazzling vintage. The wine entices right away, showing lemon infused biscuit with shades of wild mushroom and baked pear aromatics that all mingle brightly in the glass. The palate shows incredible verve and freshness with a bright sense of effervescence and a silky soft texture. Once on the attack, the palate leads with bright bright lemon zest and green apple tones that collide with mushroom, peat moss and hints of freshly baked brioche. While outstanding now, this really needs another year of bottle age prior to being enjoyed. One thing is certain — the 2008 ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ will be exceedingly long lived. Drink 2020-2035- 96

A wonderful open knit nose with honey, acacia, limestone. On the palate a pretty sweetness and great body with a fine tingly acidity. A lovely bottle- fresh yet mature. Excellent

The ‘08 was more reticent than the ‘06 but still packing a zesty zing with marked freshness. @Joe Lucca

Wow. This is exquisite. Oyster shells, baked bread notes, wonderful poise and length with a soft acidity and great length. This is in a great place right now.

Rich, dense and highly expressive, baked apple, ginger, toast, candied lemon. The finish is long, intense and racy. Best after 1 hour.

This is gorgeous. Supple on the palate- faded lemon, gentle hints of rose, gorgeous depth and prettiness. This is so balanced and combines power with great finesse.
