A more modern approach to Valtellina. Used French barriques and chestnut botte + more concentration. Quite dark in colour with dark cherry and kirsch on the nose. Medium weight on the palate with (again) kirsch and cherries. The tannins have slightly softened, the oak is nicely integrated, but the 13.5% is noticeable towards the end. Enjoyable, but I miss the lightness & nuances of Nebbiolo.
