This Cab blend has loads of cedar, dusty minerals, and tangy dark cherry on the nose. Fans out broadly in the mouth. Has lots of smoky, ashy minerality. Texture has a tacky feel from the intense but soft tannins. A bit of peppery heat on the finish. Very good, bit not great.

Long on hype and short on details, this is the tete de cuvée of the Piers label, the house brand of Garagiste wine. Semi-mystery-meat.

Wonderfully complex with overt notes of mocha and chocolate. Long finish. Well balanced and integrated tannins in this 9 year old bottle.

Sometimes you go long on mystery meat and others short. I played a poor hand and am left wanting more.

(Piers “PK” Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir) Earthy, redfruits (cranberry?) and a cool climate vibe to this one, medium-long finish, very good Sonoma Coast Pinot!!

Nice Monday effort. Better than the 2011 that followed it.

Previous scribe wrote something like - long on hype and shit the bed - this 10 year old is now fading fast. Garagiste: swing and a miss. Oh well.
