Day 2 of WineBoyz Wineapalooza. Tasted blind. Medium to darker gold color with an amazing nose. I'm instantly in old Chablis world, with notes of tropical fruit, lemon, honey, some spice, some earth and some apricot. Rich and thick in the mouth. Coats the mouth, and leaves a long finish. This powered up during the day and easily won as white wine of the day for most of the team. Guessed 90 Dauvissat Clos.

Medium gold color, heavy like motor oil in a glass. Killer, exotic nose. Notes of citrus, sweet lemon, cardamom, tan spice, some cinnamon and some iodine. Rich and palate-staining in the mouth. So much power. Finish goes on forever. This was better earlier in the evening, and for me declined a bit as it got more air… different from the other two 86s tonight which instead powered up with more oxygen. My last bottle of this as well. Killer juice! (Bday 5 of 12)

Tasted blind. Medium gold, heavier than the Niellon next tout, like motor oil in a glass. Notes of white peach, citrus, quince and some pineapple... matched with wet river stones and some spice. With air this grew and grew in its impact. Killer juice. I guessed 86 white burg.

Brought to Eleven Madison Park for lunch. Medium gold, heavy and viscous. Like motor oil in a glass with a swirl. Huge fragrant bouquet in the nose right off the get go and over 5 hours. Notes of sweet apricot, pit fruit, lemon, iodine, stone and lemon. A kaleidoscope of color in the mouth. Took 3-4 hours of air for the acidity to come on and match the richness and glycerol texture. Everything you could hope for in a white burg. The holy grail.

Medium gold. Great nose with lemon, pit fruit, river stone. Very round in the mouth. Coats it with a great balance of perfectly ripe fruit and still firm acidity. Lasting finish.

It's always said that provenance is critical; against an 83 Ramonet Montrachet and an 86 DRC Montrachet, the 86 Pierre Morey Montrachet was the winner; a kaleidescape of a fruits, flowers, stones and minerals throughout the night, this perfectly stored bottle was the white WOTN.
