Koonunga Hill South Australia Chardonnay

I was in dire need of Chardonnay (surprise surprise) and our local bottle shop had this Penfolds Chardy for $16 so I thought why not!

Crisp yellow colour on the eye with whiffs of oak, minerality and flowers on the nose. When we first cracked the bottle we kept it out of the fridge as we knew without the intense fridge chill the wine would open up. It became more honeyed, yet still nice and dry. The palate actually made me think of honeydew ice cream in flavour and consistency - fruity and creamy. Put it this way, I didn't say no to a second glass.

Penfolds helps that eternal argument about don’t fear the twist cap...the same way Blue Oyster Cult told us to don’t fear the reaper. Add more cowbell, and sip this down while doing it! Perfect Chard punch on the nose from the first sip, wonderful notes on the younger and palette going down. Vivacious flavor that is new world chard from down under. Quite enjoyable...wish I had picked up more then a single bottle!

First one I sorta like. Tropical fruit, vanilla.

2015 je ne trouve pas le chardonay mais du sucre ! et un grand manque d'equilibre..

Rostad ek, bränt socker, smör, nöt, svamp, skog, vanilj.
