Dense purple, moderate pigment extraction. Syrupy red fruit and prune notes in nose. Slightly tart on initial pour with spearmint, white pepper and blackberry flavors. Slightly viscous mouthfeel. Not much in tannins initially but fine base of red fruit flavors. Decent Lodi fruit here. Blackberry flavor stalls after 45 minutes, while plum flavor starts ramping up. A great value if you can handle the light prune and dominant spearmint and white pepper profile; else look elsewhere. I don’t mind it, and it is on point for the variety, though not everyone’s vision of what a Cali or Lodi Zin ought to be. Skin astringency comes through after an hour. Probably light on acidity, and tannin forward? Strawberry flavor emerges after an hour, along with complementary seed tannin bitterness. Decant this sucker, else nurse it through its first hour or two like I did, tasting every ten minutes until the bottle is drained. Deserves more love from the fellow Zinheads, but it will take some patience. After two hours, licorice and mild barrel char emerge. This one’s dynamic! Viscosity thins, and cherry, herbal and strawberry flavors predominate with the barrel character.

No. Just awful. Dee liked for some reason. So many good Zins to waste on this.

It is a solid wine that has sweet fruit notes at first but finishes with a subtle bite

More fruit than tannin and very light pepper. Not sure if I even detected some stone fruit (possibly because of the Peachy in the name). Great TJs buy at $7.
