Bravo Pax. This wine is in a great place. Sadly, this was my last bottle.

This is off the charts how do the two 'pro ratings' average 8.1s there is a core rotie quality. Liquid rocks, charcoal, mocha and coffee. Add some bacon fat and graphite and bam!!!!

What an awesome bottle of wine! Great nose, long finish, well integrated tannins. It was wonderful after decanting for an hour and kept evolving through the evening.

I like Pax wines and this is no exception. A bit fruit forward and not the balance of others but still a good wine

Found my old wine journal and decided to start using it again, beginning with this great wine. Aromas of rhubarb, roses, and red fruit, with a wet granite note. Flavors of strawberry, cranberry, more granite, with a very long finish. I wonder if there is Pinot Noir in the blend, because this wine doesn't act like Syrah, but whatever the case may be, it's stunning.

Opened this last night and it was worth the wait. Strawberry & rhubarb, roses and flint. More red fruit and minerality, a thoroughly interesting and memorable wine. Thank you, @djbocce, homeslice!

The inky purple '05 Pax Syrah 'Lauterbach Hill' has nice aromas of smoky bacon fat, ripe blackberry and tarry licorice. The elegant mouth delivers jammy dark fruit flavors with peppery notes. A mineral lift at the end propels a lengthy spicy finish.
