Last bottle, aged it an additional year - how does it taste? Ruby red with a tinge of purple, very good clarity, highly extracted pigment. Funky, blackberry, mint and graphite notes in nose. Needs time to open; lots of fine grained tannins that need to aerate. Strawberry and blackberry flavors emerge. Citric finish with barrel smoke, phenol and blackberry flavor with length.

67% Grenache 10% Syrah 10% Mourvèdre 9% Cinsault, 4% Viognier. New winery, first release, only four barrels produced. Purple red, deep extract, very good clarity. Strawberry, floral and slight barrel smoke notes in nose. Cherry, blackberry and floral flavors with some honey, spearmint, graphite; good acidity, slightly citric, bitter and saline finish. Cherry stone and slight honey, spearmint and licorice aftertaste. Moderate skin astringency on front of tongue and top of palate. Balanced flavor profile, though the floral Viognier comes through the more robust red varietal flavors. Worth aging this one.
