High expectations not fully met. The different components of this blend never really integrated, so I am at a loss about this wine. Perhaps it needs a lot more decanting. At the price, I feel it’s all marketing, so I am not really tempted to explore further.

Some progress here... Why is it that the ladies like to paint? I dunno but I’ll take it.
Really enjoyed this bottle. I’m sure the DL snobs will scoff, but we care not.
Wifey rating.

History dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer & went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, & got hooked. A Grenache, Syrah & Petite Sirah blend. Aromas of fresh ripe red fruits with floral & spice. On the palate flavors of cherry & raspberry with cacao & espresso notes on sweet savory soft tannins, well balanced, lingering finish ending with fruit & toasty oak. Nice! Consistent Quality!

Dinner with friends, grilling on the Big Green Egg.

Nice, rich red fruits, yet somewhat over buttery oak persists. Love how this label is almost camouflaged against the granite countertop.

Raspberry blackberry parfait dessert on the nose. Seduced me into a full case of the dark deep pool of lustful berry affection. A dark love handfed to me by Dave Phinney himself. Love.

Not quite up to expectations, but not bad. Layers of dark fruit, then spice (cinnamon prominent), on the nose, with a lemon note. Even, medium weight on the palate, with a nice sweet element. At Dena and Dan's, bottle #1.

Post Christmas Day celebrations with Orin Swift Abstract. We decanted for over an hour. The wine is a blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Gorgeous aromas of ripe red fruit including raspberry, bing cherries and strawberry open the nose. The aromas continue onto the palate with added layers of barbecued meat, rhubarb, thyme, surrounding a dark fruit core. The smoothness is enveloping and lasting, the wine finishes with a delicate maraschino cherry note. Spectacular and one of my all time favorites.
