Dark fruits and surprisingly less tannic then some of the Georgian white wines we tried today. #TexSom

Orange wine from Georgia - an absolute treat. Nectarines and lemon zest.

Reminds me a bit of a cherry tootsie pop coating. There was a bit of smokiness but that has diminished.

My first ever Georgian 🇬🇪 wine and I was not disappointed! Saperavi grapes from old vines bring a nose of red fruit (raspberries and sour red cherries), white peppercorn and forest floor. Palate: an explosion of plums and cherries 🍒 , hints of blueberries 🫐 with some spiciness and tobacco 🍃 from the oak 🪵. A grippy full bodied wine with massive potential to age. 100% recommend to let it breath for 30-45mins and pairs nicely with lamb 😄

Too young perhaps, but the 2018 was rough, overly fruity , and disappointing. It did not really taste like Saperavi. The 2016 was much better.
