Coche Branco Douro Rabigato Blend
Unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Sort of a walnut and green walnut husk aroma- if you’ve ever smelled the strangely orange scented flesh surrounding the nut of native black walnut trees. Lemon curd and preserves lemons. Also a hint of liqueur. Then just a phenomal mineral spark. Humming with mineral energy. So flinty, like Chablis. And then a haunting, spicy, fresh use of oak. Long complex finish. Maybe the first wine I’ve tried that feels simultaneously oxidative and reductive. Begs for more age, but is fascinating, and drinking deliciously now.
