I seem to be going through a bit of a Riesling craze with the warmer weather at the moment. I picked up this Great Southern Riesling from Naked Wines for $14.
It's a yellow colour with a slight peach tinge on the eye. One the nose there's enticing notes of stone fruit, lemon grass, flowers and vanilla spice. On the palate it's full yet fresh and elegant, crisp Granny Smith apples, limes and pears dominate. It certainly made me crave a plate full of freshly shucked oysters!
