California white Burgundy of the highest class. Bottle #2174 of reported 102 barrels. Still lively with prominent acidity in its 14th year. Flavors of hazelnut, cashew, pineapple, lime, granite and orange. Spicy wood flavors. Fabulous depth and power balanced by verve and delicacy. Could be at its height of complexity while showing aging colors and the beginning of matured flavors

A stupendous Chardonnay, the kind thats a shining example of what great CA chard can be. Slightly more advanced color than i might have expected, but the palate is full and rich with ripe lemon, a tropical note of passion fruit, and a very long mouthfilling finish. This is wide open for business and exuberant now -- I say drink up as I'm not sure the acidity or focus is there to expect much more improvement

What more could one ask for in a Cali Chardonnay??? Significantly less expensive than its cousins from Burgundy, no less qualified to be called “Great”.

Quite a debate about is this skunky, and if it is, how do you define it. To me, it was definitely a bit sulphuric with some burnt popcorn. Fruit is fairly subdued throughout...more grilled buttered pineapple and cashew. Out of the two, this definitely appeals to the French crowd. Thanks for the intro to this @Benjamin Keator !

Interesting nose one this. Savory/earth combine with melon, melon skin, golden orchard fruit, salt, subtle brown spice. Almost an underlying underbrush note. I really liked this because of its story, vineyard, lineage but did find the bottle in a but of a funky spot. Curious to try this vintage again. Structurally the wine is very balanced, def oak, a wine of place.

Roast chicken salads wonder of wines like these in their dreams. Oily texture that carries weight, texture, and finesse. Dances with combined elements of lemon curd & orange blossom. More beautifully aged than I was anticipating. Stunner of a site in Saratoga. Chardonnay loves fresh food. I love Chardonnay. And I don't care who knows.

Pretty advanced color — medium gold. Honeysuckle on the nose. The palate is lemon crime brûlée, with vanilla notes and burned sugar. Lacking some focus and acidity, this doesn’t have the class I’ve come to expect. It took a few years for this to begin drinking — is it now already past peak?!
