2014, I know there style is not about finesse but I would expect more acidity coming from a cool year in McLaren Vale. Huge blue fruit and a hint of that black olive. It is not a shy wine

For how big this is, it's actually pretty graceful 2014 vintage

I need some ice cream for this, perfect slap to the face after a slew of old, elegant French and Napa wines. A testament to sunshine and concentration , well made and crafty and the rare steak and chimichurri saved it from being blowsy like Pam from Archer.

Great nose of mint chocolate, figs and cola. Even better on the palate, extremely ripe attack, chewy and rich, dry and slightly bitter finish reminiscent of cocoa powder.

This wine did well with a little bit of air. It was a little bit dark and mysterious before it had a chance to open. More of a tobacco and muted figs. Seemed to get more youthful and more fruit forward and more peppery on the finish as the hours went on. Started showing a cinnamon spice cookie note in addition to all the black fruit backbone. This is my first experience with this wine and hopefully won't be last.

Just as the name describes ....like velvet. Smooth with a hint of spice. Very easy drinking.
