I didn't get the chocolate and espresso last time I had a bottle but that is the first thing that hits in this bottle. As always with Mollydooker the high alcohol is well hidden and there is very little excessive acidity. MD never disappoints but don't expect an easy food pairing as the wine is a meal on its own.

Very very hot. Rich bouquet of dark chocolate, black cherries, espresso and wet leaves. Med+ body with similar flavors on the palate followed by unpleasant alcoholic heat.

Excellent for beef. Mild spice, fruity bouquet but not overwhelming.

Way too alcoholic. 17% Merlot... Not a very good idea.
