Toasty, meaty, with savory tang, on nose and followed through on palate. Juniper smoky and mushroom notes, incredible finesse and precision. Expansive.
Would be perfect with venison or wild game. Beautiful beautiful.

Light brickish red with some orange tint. Translucent. This looks old but has a fruity nose that says its not. Smooth and silky in the mouth. Notes of warm pie fruit. Short finish. Alas its 53 years old. Great treat.

1996 - not as good as the bottle we had back in Sept but still memorable

1966. Good complexity. Chocolate, barnyard, leather, no fruit shows that perhaps it's a bit past its prime. Incredible freshness. Lacks a bit of tannic structure. Incredible with my Easter lamb however.

A bit of sweet vanilla oak up front, swirling reveals some green notes (asparagus?), solid fruit on palate, soft and pretty balanced, good, but certainly not profound nor a great Cote Rotie.

Initial old red wine sweet aromas, some herbal/green olive aromas up with swirling, on palate showing it’s age, some sweet oak creaminess, medium-long finish, good, but not great, probably a little past it’s prime!

Unfortunately this bottle has gone bad, real bad. 1 nervous half-sip was enough to tell that we now had an expensive bottle of vinegar. 1 follow up sip (just to make sure) confirmed.
