Still a rich styled pinot, but the lighter vintage and years in the bottle really help this stay balanced. Packed with rich dark fruit and cola notes finishing with a bit of spice. Nice now and will hold for another 3-4 years.

This is a big wine. After about 2.5 hours the dark fruit fills out on the palate. It is not sweet, however. Some tannic grip on the finish.

Has the distinct cola notes of #RRV #pinot but has the color, tannin, and pepper of a petite syrah. Holds up well with pizza. #pinotnoir #russianriver

Strong oak nose. Medium-to-full body. Dry. Dark fruit and cola on palate. Took a bit to open up but worth the wait.

Really well made but not my style. Too ripe and extracted.

Didn't realize recently opened this. Wondering if bottle was off or just needed some time to take the edge off. Either way, 4 months later, this isn't the same wine. Raspberry, cola, earth and a mushroom finish. Good, solid backbone. A tour de force.

Typical RRV cola notes, married with tart raspberry and tea flavors. A short, tea-filled and tannic finish follows. It's full and juicy, but a bit off-balance and falls a bit short of ME's best efforts. Given the year, a terrific effort, though. It's also quite young. Needs time to open up. Hold if you have. If you must open, decant for a couple hours.

Terrific effort in a difficult year. This has many years left. Not a bashful thin little burg.
