Great, high toned, herbal and floral spice driven, edgy acid, fresh and delicious!

Reminds me of an old world style Pinot. Less ripe and not fruit forward. One the nose: floral, earth, vanilla, strong spice. On the tongue: sour cherry, clove, vanilla, earth. It’s missing that slate minerality for me, that I like in a Pinot. If you’re looking for a typical ripe Cali Pinot, this isn’t it! Still great none the less.

Hard to keep up with Matthiassons - now a Pinot Noir. Sonoma red fruit without the heat.

I was a little disappointed. Didn't really taste like a Pinot to me, and not as flavorful as a wine as full bodied (relatively) as this would normally be. Love Matthiasson wines in general, though!

Dark, bramble laced fruit. Some grip. Mid-weight. Day 3 was wide open with a pleasant prickly bramble thing going on.
