Stern at the moment, even on day 2. Balsamic, woodsy nose, dried herbs and some high red fruit notes. Palate firm, tannic and needs time - but the leathery, dried herb notes, suggest the tannins may outlive the fruit - not in the class of the Guiseppe Rinaldi 2006 Brunate had recently.

Thanks aiding the cellar for the old European wines and found this. Bottle is showing well. Nicely refined tannins and good Barolo terroir. Fruit is beginning to show. Double decanted back into the bottle. Will be drinking over 24 hours.

Still in an austere phase. Didn’t start to show its secrets until about 3 hours of air. Needs food.
