Interesting to compare this with the Dry River Chardonnay had recently - same vintage, same district , same grape. There is that tropical fruit character which is common to both. This wine had a more creamy textural leesy palate than the Dry River. A full bodied white. Another feature in common - both delicious.

See previous notes. An outstanding new world Chardonnay. Full bodied showing tropical fruits with oak held in check. Creamy texture with enough acid to keep things fresh. Delicious. Decanter Magazine awarded the 2012 of this wine, the best Chardonnay outside of Burgundy. Should be a regular buy on this showing.

Revisiting the 2014 about a year or so since last tasting. It has mellowed slightly but still incredibly youthful and vibrant. One of the very best Chardonnay’s fro both Martinborough and NZ.

A mixture of Citrus aromas and even tropical fruits - a hint of mango on the palate. Oak totally in balance. Some creamy notes but with enough acidity to keep things fresh. New Zealand Chardonnays are fabulous and worth seeking out. Decanter Magazine (UK) said the 2012 vintage of this wine was voted the best Chardonnay in the world outside Burgundy in 2015.
