In 1858, it was the first winery in Rioja to produce wines using the Bordeaux method. A blend of 90% Tempranillo & 10% Graciano & Mazuelo, classic blend. Powerhouse of aromas, berry, sweet spice and some citrus on the nose. Palate shows dark berry fruits, cacao, some smoky pepper with a savory character. Fine tannins, nice balance and good length ending with slight mineral, oak and earthy tones. Great value, short term aging potential. Consistent quality. Good value.

Textbook oaky Rioja. Coconut, dill and vanilla, liquorice, ripe cherry, plum and leather. Prominent ripe tannin and cleansing acid. For 29 aud it’s a bargain.

異国を旅してる恋人の帰りを待ち侘びて、スペインのワインを飲んでみた。綴りは違うが...個人的にマルケスという名に惹かれる。テンプラニーリョはどれも同じ味で飲み疲れる葡萄汁、という先入観で飲んだところ、思ったより軽い印象で驚いた。一応フルボディらしいのだが、そんな感じはしなかった。かといって薄いかというとそうでもない。一瞬だけ強く舌が引き締りすぐに解放され、熟成感こそ無いが食事を邪魔しない炭酸水のようなワインという印象。わたしの今まで飲んだ天婦羅のフルボディがあまりに雑な造りだったのだろうか。これだったら天婦羅でもまぁ飲める気がしてきた
