Had older vintages, the ‘07 was released in late 2015, great but still has time to bottle age. Decant 2 hours before drinking. Tempranillo with about 15% Mazuelo (Cariñena), concentrated bouquet of berry fruits with spice. On the palate cherry and plum flavors, well balanced for a difficult vintage. Lingering, crisp and focused, tight tannins ending with a mineral character and earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. Stock up on the ‘07, there is no ‘08, but ‘09, ‘10 & ‘11 will be released Wow! 900 cases US!

Great potential, but I would hold for another 5-10 if you have this in your cellar. Surprisingly fresh and bright at 9 years from vintage.

Tobacco, dried fig, forest leaves, vanilla bean, rosemary, black berries and cassis. Layered and well integrated. Dried fruit and slightly reduced, shows some age. Rustic dark fruit, coated with leather on a structured palate. Finishes with tannin over acid.

Deep red ruby, wider ruby rim. Slightly more high toned, sweet vanilla , showing less fruit comes across as slightly more one dimensional than the 2009. Slightly more advanced I suppose . Ripe blackberry palate, strawberry also maybe. Tannin is very suave and sweet, the palate is long mineral tinge on the finish also. Nice saline touch and balancing acidity . Probably needs a bit more time to open. Complexity I feel is still very much hidden , needs more time in bottle. Coming back to the glass the fruit does seem riper than the 09, alcohol also seems a touch higher. Length is good but perhaps the acidity is less marked than the 09.
