Marie et Frederic Chauffray
Domaine de La Reserve d'O BilBo Terrasses du Larzac Languedoc Red Blend
Light to medium ruby red. Slightly stinky attack on the nose, almost like cured meats. Wears off in around 30 minutes or so and gets a little candied cherries, spices and a little smoky. Completely different palate than the nose. Low plus tannins (4.5/10) and low to medium bodied. Bright palate with soft red cherries and bright acidity but balanced. A bit of bret, with white pepper and roses. A little rustic in the medium finish with some wet rocks. Drink till 2020.

Jan 20th, 2017I've had this bottling before labelled as Terraces du Larzac AOC before, but this one was just Languedoc. And this producer seems to have done 1000 variations on most of their wines 🤷🏼♂️ In any case, it reminds me of Gramenon's la Poignée du Raisin. Deeply colored glou for cheerful swigging.
