These wines need a lot of air. They are intensely mineral and structured wines. Les Loges is a unique place that makes unique wines. Lime, lime leaf, chlorine, mint, bay leaf, hickory switch (shout out to my redneck people who got their asses whooped with hickory switches), and wet rock. I usually hate Sauvignon Blanc. This is emotive for me.

On a menu as a random “poule fume” [sic], but when I see a “Rosenthal” import, I buy. Super shut down when opened, so corked it up and took it home. Needed a full day to open up. On the nose, seaweed, grapefruit, minerals. In the mouth, saline, grapefruit rind, wet rock. High acidity. Moderately high alcohol. Medium-long finish. Good but may need a few years to come together.

Love! Fruity nose with hints of salty sea water and minerals. Tangy acidity with ripe pineapple, wet stone and light tropical fruit notes. There is a light smokiness and a salty/hint of slate on the long finish.

Once it airs out a little, it's like getting a mouthful of lime dusted rocks. Complex while still very, very drinkable and food friendly.

A study in minerals and acidity: gravel and limestone wetted with seawater dominates hints of lime zest, backyard pool, and smoke. Equivalent nose and pallet. Nice lurking mouthfeel. Enjoyable solo, yet made friends with angry burritos. Enjoy!

Lovely and fresh, unripe orchard and citrus fruits, clean minerality.
