Blinded. Clearly Burg, natty, and 18’. No one got the appellation. Loved the vitality here - pure dark berry energy, almost crystalline if not for the fruit sweetness (though it’s not as sweet as the other 18’ Burg on the table), juicy acidity, long finish accented by smoke and spice, and some noticeable fine tannins that gave the wine such a lovely texture. First encounter with this negociant (cooper turned winemaker!) and I’m keen to find out more!
