Deep Ruby with ripe dark fruit aromas with spicy notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with notes of black pepper and toasty notes. Ok balance, firm tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and spicy notes.

This is such a nice surprise. I had this blind and couldn't really get it. I did get the vintage right though šŸ˜‚

This is a very tasty Barbera from Lodi. Showing black fruits with oak, vanilla, earth, spices, leather, tobacco, chocolates, light alcohol, coffee, light mocha and peppercorn.

Full bodied with medium acidity with long legs.

Dry to off dry on the palate and fruit forward with a great mouthfeel.

Tasty with mild complexity and good by itself as a sipping wine.

Good right out of the bottle, and shows more complexity and tannins after a couple of hours of airtime.

14% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$25.

Fairly dense red, moderately extracted pigment. Black cherry, black currant, mint and butter aromas. Fairly ripe flavors of cherry, blackberry, black currant in mouth, rounded mouthfeel, slightly tart blackberry and cranberry on finish with seed bitterness and mild skin astringency. Lactic aftertaste. After an hour, white pepper and then, 90 minutes later, cocoa emerges in the finish and aftertaste. After two hours, barrel smoke emerges. Great fruit, nothing too fancy on the winemaking end (perhaps deceptively so) but exactly what Iā€™d want from a Lodi Italian varietal like Barbera, especially if you can decant an hour or two and wait for that white pepper and cocoa to emerge.

Really great wine. I will definitely buy this again. Great nose, big fruit flavor.

Peppery, stemmy, briary, hint of tobacco and tannic. Interesting, vibrant, but not fantastic (which is interesting because it won a gold medal in Italy in the world Barbera competition).

Great value wine. Complex but opens with time. Give it some time to breathe for the hints of blackberry to show

Deep red with berry fruit aromas and strong spice notes. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors with cacao and cracked pepper notes. Good balance, tight tannins bring this wine to a medium finish. Needs decanting. Tasting Sample.

Velvet mouth feels. One of my favorite wine qualities. Filed with layers of rich flavors. All previously noted.
