#AgedWineTuesday

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.

Dry on the palate and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Showing blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, light vanilla, olives, spices, tobacco, light barnyard, vegetables, herbs, dark chocolates and coffee.

This 14 year old is nicely balanced, with a nice mouthfeel. I really enjoyed the nose here.

Needed 3 hours of airtime to open up properly, but was good right out of the bottle too.

Thank you Scott for sharing.

Drinking nicely now and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

100% Syrah grapes were hand-picked from 60 year old Vines. Aged for 16 months in Oak barrels.

13% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$120.

Dark plum, spice, bacon fat, violets. Gorgeous settled fruit with secondary notes. Great tension and then a fascinating finish. Really lovely.

More advanced for his age than I anticipated - But beautiful game leather pepper and space elements all coming together with some partial new oak

Ooh. This is special. A meatiness, bacon fat, gorgeous sweet revolved fruit in the nose. A glorious palate if slightly soured fruit. This has amazing complexity and a gorgeous supplenesss. Cherry, plum and leather. Great stuff.

Cork was perfectly intact. Poured a small bit to try; deciding ultimately to decant. I found this wine to be very much alive (young even) and yet largely reticent. There was a mix of blue and red fruits with some olive tapenade qualities in the nose. On the palate it was very bright, surprisingly so for a wine that’s nearing its fifteenth birthday. Tart dark and red fruits and minerals...some spices. That being said, there isn’t a whole lot of power and after several hours in the decanter, I returned the remaining contents into the bottle and continued to check in on it over the next four days. Despite my efforts and rather magnanimous display of patience, there was very little evolution and if anything, it seemed to coil up even more tightly. It just never really became memorable. While the wine was technically not bad and in fact, firmly in the spectrum of good, I would be lying if I didn’t express that I had some feelings of disappointment with this bottle. This is one of those situations where the wine is what it is or I opened this two decades too early...which seems ridiculous to believe.

Beautiful. Sour cherry, damson, soft resolved oak. Some tangy green notes with a lovely haunting depth of fruit. Bacon and black cherry. Not too ripe, rich or anything but very, very balanced. Great stuff. Long and vivid and memorable.

Rich, ripe, and still very young. The Oak unfortunately is at the forefront. Slightly off balance and not typical CR but still enjoyable in its on right. Good length. More elegant than the 99 Meal.

Dark mature red fruit. Olives and roasted red fruit. Deep and bloody with iron and sour plum. Very integrated and supple. Delicious and long.
