Mar 13th, 20161985: Great bottle. First tasted this vintage in 1995, and have enjoyed twice since. This bottle showed the best among other devine experiences. I tried to maintain a cool reserve while anticipating tasting the wine, since Barolo, particularly this philosophical branch, can sometimes lead to "anticipointment". Not this time. Fresh and youthful, full of depth and supple charm. Pure harmony, with a broad core of intense cherry fruit. A tremendous wine, where the four of us were all delighted. Transcendent.

Nov 12th, 20151985 Sandrone Cannubi Boschis Barolo. Opened, decanted in glass for 30 mins. Perfect way to serve it. Decanting would have been too much. Floral notes upfront (roses), Asian spice (cinnamon, star anise, clove, allspice), some spice (ginger, black pepper), earth (mushrooms, onion), with balsamic and figs on the nose. Great tannins that provided a nice backbone to the wine. Drank with Curry Pork Tenderloin Salad. Drinking perfectly right now. Still has freshness to it, but none of the stewey, sweet flavors.

May 2nd, 20201985 Luciano Sandrone Cannubi Boschis Barolo Nebbiolo. Drank at Sotto w K. Should have decanted but didn't have the time. Pruney, raisiny, and super sweet on the nose at first. Almost like a port. But it got much better as the night progressed. Developed more texture and nuance as it opened up. Not our fave, but def fun to try.
