100% Cabernet Franc (Rosé Corail), Loire Valley, Samur.

Just a beautiful bottle of the sparkling version of probably one of my favorite grapes, Mmmm Cab Franc!

Nose is earthy raspberry with spring strawberry juice, cold wet slate and grapefruit zest.
Palate is dirty raspberry/strawberry, ruby grapefruit juice lite and wet mineral trending sandstone.

Last bottle 😕

The best muselet cap in the business, IMHO.

I purchased this Sparkling Rose almost as an afterthought while on a wine buying trip in the States. Not expecting much at $15.00 USD as my wine consultant suggested that I pickup a couple of bottles. Wow was I pleasantly surprised. This Loire Valley Cabernet Franc reflects the clay regional soil in its minerality, clean, crisp dry taste. With a near perfect balance of acidity and sugar, hints of the local Aunis grape, perfect effervescence presents a beautiful exposition of citrus and Rose buds flavours on your palate. I most certainly will be adding this under the radar gem to my collection. Enjoy.

Inoffensive. Very, very easy to drink. Can’t go wrong with it.

Rosé wine dinner at The Wheatleigh in Lenox, MA. This sparkling rosé is made from 100 percent Cabernet Franc and exhibits the more fruit-forward profile of the varietal. Strawberry and raspberry, very crisp and refreshing.

100% Cab Franc? Big fan of the varietal and I've never had it as a sparkling wine so I had to try this. This isn't a great rosé necessarily, but it is a solid interesting wine that's clearly Cab Franc given pepper aroma and flavor. On the nose there's a crisp spicy earthiness that continues in taste but evolves into tight flavors of wild strawberry with nice acidity. Lacks the creamy smoothness of most well made Cremant and Champagne, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing with this wine. Worth a try.

DV. Peppery, bright with great bead. One of the few family owned cremant producers left in Saumur

Very nice bottle for the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon, Andris conducting Mahler No. 4 in G (brilliant work), and his beautiful wife Kristine as soprano soloist.
Typical CF nose, and lightly dirty on the palate, yet has minor ruby red grapefruit finish, at $16 this is a star!
