@Jason Jones had just gotten these in and when he teased about opening one, I had no choice but to push him over the edge...undoubtedly way too young, but it can be fun to check in on these to see the potential.
This will be the last vintage for Lillian Cabernet. The fruit is from True Vineyard on Howell and it shows. Robust and powerful. All the elements are there on the nose with smoked bacon fat, anise, crushed rock, violets, and underripe red and black fruits. Very floral and became more so with time in the glass. On the palate it was coiled tightly with dusty and gripping tannins, underripe blackberries, mocha, potpourri, and currant. Patience will be rewarded.
