1/2 hour decant (little cloudy sediment). A dark purplish garnet color with the start of some bricking. Nose: Yeessss......that delicate sweet aged cabernet perfume hits then eucalyptus, plum/cherry, wet soil, tobacco, slight menthol. Taste: A velvety rich medium plus body wine with some dark cherry, spice, chocolate, leather, and a minerally dried blackberry long finish with a very slight tannic kick. Nice start to the weekend!

2001 750ml on Christmas Day, 2017. Love Lewis wines! Placed a hot washcloth on plastic seal for 30 seconds then easily pealed off. Cork was a little mushy, but had planned on it and used my two-pronged corkscrew to easily open without snapping cork in half. Decanted for 45min before drinking. Very light/fine sediment only in last ounce. Wonderful color, medium nose initially, with a slight must on palate. Big and bold over next hour while we enjoyed it with our Prime Rib. Luckily I have about five more of these in 750ml and 1 Magnum. Recommend drink in next 5 years to get full enjoyment.
