Le Caillou Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend

Vintage 2020 | second modest Côtes du Rhône this week that turns me on! Beautiful red fruit, raspberry, frivolousness and playful expression. Light and quaffable.

Black pepper. Plums. Mineral.

Up front and immediate with alluring notes of strawberry confiture, candied cherry, and roasted plum. While primary there is some layers of garrigue, sweet herbs, white peppercorn, and rocks. A great bargain and great wine for those who want CNDP character at a great price. 90% Grenache, 10% Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Counoise.

Good enough but not worth the tariff (like most French rose).

Medium ruby in color; cherries, raspberries, and earth on the nose; high acidity, medium tannins; tastes like tart cherries, gravel, and cranberries with a long finish. It's a little too sour for my tastes.

Raspberry, tart cherry, and cranberry on the nose. Tart cherry, strawberry, cranberry, cinnamon, and minerals on the palate. High alcohol, medium tannins, and high acid with a medium finish.

Loved this one - “declassified” CNdP. Round cool blue and purple fruit, black olives, thyme, super fine tannin, super young.

Light sipping, we like

Full body. Strong. Good cotes du rhone. Not exceptional
