Dark juicy plums is the first impression out of the gate. There’s a cassis thing going on here...just don’t know where to place it. Finishes off with some lovely and chewy light-weight tannins. Wait around long enough and smoked bacon is definitely part of the mix. Not a hint of heat at 14.5% ABV. Its unabashed youthfulness is a finger in the eye to its more serious—but expensive—Hermitage sister. Buy a case and drink over the next five years. It won’t get much better but who cares? It’s already there.
