Has too much presence in relation to the structure but authentic and authoritative aroma makes it compelling. The flavor could dig deeper into the core and bit more continuous but that may happen down the road. Conventional but true classic.

Lots of big cherry and red fruit on nose. A little “hot” for 13.5% alcohol wine and thought was heavy oak and it felt closed off at first but opened up nicely after 1 hour. Look forward to drinking it again tomorrow to see how it develops. Well made.

The best of the trio 08, 09 and 10. Lots of cigar box, red fruits, tobacco...a beautiful young wine that should improve in time

Mini vertical of Rioja Alta - tasting ‘09 and ‘10 side by side. This is the’10. Both are great vintages, but the ‘10 is more intense and concentrated. Ripe red fruit with layers of smoke, vanilla, spice, and earth. Incredibly long and complex finish. This has years ahead of it. Exquisite and classic Rioja. 2010 vintage on June 6, 2020

Complex, earthy cigar box tannins right from the start transitioning in a vibrant dark fruit on the mid palet and a nice grippy finish. At its peak after about 30-60 minutes, flatting out after two hours. If it had more staying power I would have rated it in the upper echelon.
