Estate Grown Moon Mountain District Merlot

This is an excellent example of California Merlot. It also is produced from my favorite AVA in Sonoma, Moon Mountain District. The fruit on this wine is exquisite, deep plum and dark black fruit. Nice level of acidity and tannins to balance it out. This is drinking excellent now. #MoonMountain

Very nice Merlot. Less fruit forward just the way I like. Had this for Heather 36th Bday dinner at home. Great time with family. Was part of Scott's monthly wine club.

Red fruit and spice, with quite a bit of tannin, great balance and charm.

A terrific wine, with pure fruit, a bit of minerality and herbs, and scrumptious acidity and fine supple tannin, it reminds me more of 1980s St.-Emilion than anything else. Proof that CA Merlot can be nuanced and elegant.

Delightful, pure black and red fruit with a bit of minerality and a hint of greenness that added to the savoriness, all supported by good tannic and acidic structure. It reminded me more of an old style Right Bank wine than the sweet vanilla fruit bombs that have become too common in Merlot from both the US and Bordeaux.

The wine had a really nice savory element that paired well with a pasta with mushrooms
