Strange, uncommon grape in CA. Pours deep maroon with a tint of blood red. Smells musky and perfumed in a damask rose and fresh ripe plums kind of way. Flavors also bring a hint of musk. Plenty of cola. Some dark tree and vine fruits. The acids are excellent though. Really a unique and fleshy wine. Tart like cool climate Grenache, woodsy like Tempranillo, and just plain interesting in its own way.
