1 person found it helpfulJan 6th, 2019Very delightful Turkish wine made from a grape I've never had before and cannot pronounce. The nose is interesting with floral, earthy and dark fruit notes. The tannins are smooth and supple, but still with some bite. The palate is stewed plums and blackberries with some smokiness. It went well with a cassoulet on this winter's eve.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, cherries, bell pepper, Mediterranean spices, dill, earth, graphite, black tea, cedar, licorice, vanilla, sweet almonds and peppercorn. A Very complex nose.
Full bodied with medium acidity, long legs, rich and jammy.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, chocolates, mocha and black tea.
Long finish with firm, angular tannins and black pepper.
This is a great Turkish red wine. Very similar to a big California Cabernet, with more notes of interesting spices.
This Single Vineyard Oküzgözü, is Complex and interesting with nice balance. Could use some more aging, but drinking nicely now.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly. Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with Lamb kabobs and rice.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

May 7th, 2018Very nice wine. Went well with the lamb kebabs with yogurt sauce. I've never heard of the grape before, but this is really good wine.

Jul 1st, 2017(15/20) Аромат спелых ягод вишни и ежевики с нотой баттерскотча. Умеренная кислотность и интенсивные, обволакивающие, вяжущие танины. Немного водянистое во вкусе.

Aug 10th, 2016Worth the time to find. Tannins are big when first uncorked, but rapidly mellow. Dried fruit aromas and an ashy terroir that is very appealing.

Mar 13th, 2016This is an image I took 3 yrs ago. It's an awesome wine, rich, intense, big tasty wine from a company with more ümlats than a geezer metal band and grapes I cannot pronounce. I love this wine. I had it at Tarla in Napa, but have never been able to find it again. Anywhere.
