Ahrweiler Spätburgunder
Wine from the ”German paradise of red wine” — Ahr — between Bonn and Mosel. This Pinot noir is ruby red in color with a dark bluish core; nose is full of overripe straw- and raspberries, and deep earthy notes with hints of sulphur salts (in a strange dirty appealing way); taste is a mix of ripe and sour cherries and raspberries, high acids low alcohol, and a jammy yet delicious medium-lenght finish. Well made at 25 USD, 12.5% alc.
