Quiet and unobtrusive like an introvert at a party, the nose is of candied grapefruit peel, ripe strawberries and sugared rose petals. It’s suitably dry on the palate like most Provençal rosés, with measured sweetness at the core, where fruit intersects minerality and bright acid. Even though I find myself searching for more complexity, this is in every way a cheap and cheerful picnic wine. Paired with grilled asparagus, salmon topped with arugula pesto and scallions.
