Debut vintage of this very small production little low key star wine a Girard. Right below the Corton-Charlemagne in pricing. Stunning nose of meyer lemon, hint of sweet wood, mineral, saline, stunningly pure and deep aromas. It’s so expressive but also in that classic Girard super transparent way. It’s so Meursault. The nose is indescribable. Haunting, classic and beautiful and most important it’s an open knit nose unlike the Corton Charlie which needs 5 years to become drinkable. This is raring to go. Palate is racy, opulent and super mineral. It’s so distinct. Huge concentration and also stunning levels of a wall of flavor of minerality and sweet lime and lemon. Incredible texture and super racy and vivacious. It’s such a classic Meursault in that it’s got all the buttery richness, all the intense rocky minerality and salinity, but also the grace, finesse and elegance of the Girard style. This is an accomplished wine and a great debut and an important new wine in the Girard lineup.
