Jacob's Creek/Orlando
Chardonnay
Straw in color with a yellow tint.
Light nose of citrus, lemons, apples, oak, vanilla and white pepper.
Medium plus in body, crisp and refreshing, with a little effervescent.
Dry on the palate with wood, vanilla, lemons, rotten citrus fruits, apples, grapefruits and bitter herbs.
Short finish with bitter almonds.
This is a surprisingly drinkable seven year old Chardonnay from Australia. Simple, with oak notes, and not balanced any longer.
Over the hill by now, but still good with food. Needs to be chilled properly.
I paired it with smoked salmon, soft cheeses and capers.
13% alcohol by volume.

Basically---what I drink when I don't want anything more than a decent buzz to sleep on :-P

Decent Chardonnay. Fairly light but not detailed enough to fill out that side of the wine.
