Highlands Bench Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

With a 5 hour decant this was an enjoyable bottle.

Very very good. Love this wine.

Earthy, cooked tomatoes.

Perfumed rose petals and cherry. Strawberry, cherry, and spiced rum cake on the palate. Rich toasted oak, medium + tannins. Quite balanced acidity.

Dark fruit, earth and leather.

Pours hey Ruby in color. Dark for a Pinot. Aromas of cherry blueberry and a hint of smoke. Jammy aromas. Flavors include more jamminess and cherry and a bit of spice. Sweet oak light in tannins. Medium body and medium finish. Better as it opened up.

Good value. Impossibly dark, though Pinot fruit manages to poke through.

Bright cherry pie. Hazelnut and chocolate coveted cherries. $35

v15. Very good. Smokey, pepper and black cherry nose. Full, rich, black cherry and blackberry fruit. Dry earthy finish. Good food wine.

Blackberries & black currant on the nose. Subtle. Lush on the palate, with subdued blue and black fruits, tar, and a lightly tangy, fruit tannin finish. Dark & subdued. Alcohol comes through; doesn’t hide well. Medium-minus acidity.
