This is a good wine from the region, it needs decanting, the difference from opening to one hour later is marked. Cherries, spices and some earthy, leathery finish.

Very true to the style - chocolate covered raisins and a soft smoky mesquite on the nose. Ripe fruit but not overripe on the palate with cooked black plum and a touch of singed raspberry. Balancing acidity, more plush as it opens up. Nice bottle.

This wine needs to be aired out. Right after decanting, nose is all funky cheese rinds, but over time this transforms to a scent that seems like what potpourri would smell like after a week in a composter. In a good way. Really unique. There's some rich dark, sweet macerated plum fruit too. Earthy, rich, slightly Amarone-like fruit in the mouth. Dark toasted spices and deep minerally earthiness notes. Long rich finish. Air. Needs air. Give it air.

2009 Vintage just wonderful from Valpolicella. Aroma of blackberries and raisins, with a taste of mixed berries, cinnamon, and a hint of pepper on the pallet. It's Saturday night!!

We had a bottle left over from Christmas and ended up drinking it with chili in August. Surprisingly easy to drink, even with food in the middle of summer! Complex, but not heavy, with pronounced dried fruit and floral notes.
