Hidden Ridge
55% slope Cabernet Sauvignon
Followed up based on the beach bum waxing about it.
It’s very good. Elegant, exotic nose. Slightly woody notes on the palate. Plush texture, with grainy tannins. Very well done. My only counter to this is that there are many cabs in the $50 category that are just as good. Since I paid $79, I conclude there are better values on the market.

Can’t remember where I picked this up, but I wrote “drink in 2017” on the back!Solid, if predictable California cab. Good on this chilly night.

Dense deep red with full berry aromas and subtle herbs. On the palate, rich concentrated blackberry flavors with oak, cacao and pepper spice. Well structured with smooth tannins, great mouthfeel on a lingering finish ending with mineral tones. Still has room to run, wish I bought a few more bottles for the cellar. Very Nice!

Apr 19th, 2017Stunning. Somehow manages to avoid being over extracted, yet it's huge, dark and staining. Plum, dark chocolate, bacon, and herbs. Hard for me to imagine a better pairing for steak.
