Herzog Wine Cellars Special Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, California

#kosherwineSunday

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Showing black fruits with chocolate notes, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, light cedar, cola, cloves, light earth and herbs.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and fruit forward.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already very yummy.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

I had their Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley a year ago, and this Napa version is much better.

Well-balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. I paired it with BBQ Meats.

13% alcohol by volume. Kosher and Mevushal.

91 points.

$50.
