Dec 27th, 2015Very nice Riesling, and so so young. Pours a lighter straw color than I thought it would. Nose of kiwi, peach, hint of butterscotch, hint of rosemary, hint of cashews. Entry is initially rather acidic which carried through the entire experience. Tames to a sweeter tropical character that fades in the back. Lemongrass, mango, herbs and peach on the finish. This wine is really nice now. And will continue to improve over the next 5 years IMO. I don't think I would be in a hurry to drink this if I had more.

Mar 28th, 2019IMO the 2014 Josef is the golden standard of FLX rieslings. It's a sweet, classical riesling. Similar to a Mosel Auslese. Super pure and balanced. Dip in the nose you will discover its delicate, sweet, and superb freshness with layers of apricot, peach, honeysuckle, and hint of petroleum. Although sweeter than the 2013 vintage, its racy acidity balances the sweetness well. And when its bursting minerality kicks in, this 14 Josef tastes just like heaven.
