Peppery at beginning. Invented by Fritz Zweigely in 1922 . Cross between two lighted bodied varietals: Blaufrankisch and St. Laurent. Grapes grown near Vienna. More aromatics version of Pinot Noir with scents of cherry and cassis. Opens to complex peppery flavored and gaminess. Very dis friendly.
