Chalky, overtly spicy, moderate tannin, a bit wonky in the finish but everything surrounding it is likeable and direct.

From one of the Languedoc-Roussillon's most exciting young négociants, Hecht & Bannier's Côtes du Roussillon Villages demonstrates excellent varietal character - a classic, rustic expression of Grenache from this corner of the Med. Flavors of almond dust, warm plums, licorice, raspberry and blanched sweet herbs expand to a rather girthy mid-palate, nuanced by a subtle minerality and animale character that informs the finish. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Lledoner Pelut.

Lots of spice and dark fruit. Not over the top. Smooth tannins.

Memorial Day BBQ red wine. Went perfect with the bone in ribeye. Earthy with leather notes. With meat - it brings out the fruit. Great pairing with perfectly cooked "charred" beef.

This is a bruiser. Black fruits, black olive, black pepper, massively structured and concentrated. Tastes like a wine with something to prove. 15% ABV, imported by Frederick Wildman.

7 year date a versary, chosen together. Cherry, tobacco, balance of light with spice.
