Mar 16th, 2018Fresh, oh so fresh. Only a hint of petrol. Defined: fresh herbs, lime, slate, green mangoes, tangerine. Medium body, fully concentration, acid slightly faded but medium plus. Structurally drink now. Aromatically youthful.

A very pretty Auslese Riesling that is probably in a good, mature place right now. It took a while for the muted nose to open and show ripe pineapple and apricot notes. The palate had shed most of its lush sweetness but still had a wonderfully full, creamy mouth feel along with lively acidity that made itself known with a few minutes of air time. Held about a glass in the bottle for after the meal and found it to be substantially better, with a far more complex palate, showing great fruit and spice.
